I have a brand new Asus G2S-B2 Laptop that came installed with Vista Home Premium. I have been experiencing insane stuttering problems. Basically, whenever the laptop is running, every 5 to 8 seconds the computer will start to sounds like it's workign a bit harder and my mouse will lag a bit, then shoot to where it should have been.
This also slows down ANY applications that are running. Music skips until it catches back up, videos pause until it's over, etc. I can't figure out the source of this, and I'm guessing it's a driver problem. Here are the specs:

The Nvidia site directs me to www.asus.com when I tried to check for driver udates, and Asus' download site is very weak. All it seems to have are the drivers that came with this thing, not really any updated ones. I've seen other people with this problem, but without solution. Help is MUCH MUCH MUCH appreciated.
thanks in advance.![]()

Have you clean installed?

I second that, and if it happens all the time it might be that the HDD is not in DMA mode? I'm not sure if this applies to the newer SATA HDDs but in older PATA computers, freezing every few seconds were a sign that the HDD was not in DMA mode.
