Hi everyone, i'm thinking of buying a Asus G2S B2; anyone have one that plays World of Warcraft? How are the Frames per secound? Can you play wow at 1900x1200 res? Any problems / known issues with the G2S B2? Is there another Laptop thats better than the G2S B2 with the same 1920x1200 res for the same price? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunatly you cannot play WOW on that setting with the G2S, This is a very limited machine and youll be lucky to play it on low settings with 10fps. I think you should invest your money into a compaque or something along those lines.

To clarify, probably the G2S will run WOW at native resolution without a hitch. :)

LOL...correct me if I'm wrong, but G2S is one of the pro-est gaming laptops out there, meanwhile WoW's graphics to be honest is pretty sh*t (hey but it's fun! I play it alot too) and doesn't take much system requirement AT ALL. The ONLY reason why you might lag at 1900resolution would be because you're at like at IF or SW (soz im Alliance) where there's mass players and your internet can't handle it all at once.

Compaq lovers invading WoA (world of Asus) lol joking.

The G2s is a rubbish gaming laptop. The G1s is a good one, but having the same card in a 17" laptop is just rubbish.
So, if you want a gaming laptop in the same price range check a Clevo M571RU with a 8700M GT card. It's definitely a better choice for a gamer. You can check XoticPC for that one. You could also look into a HP 8710P. It also has a 8700M GT based card, but with better build quality.
Don't get me wrong, but buying a 17" laptop (that's supposed to play games) with a 8600M GT card isn't quite a smart move. Even that new Gateway (with WUXGA screen and 8800M GTS) would be a better choice.

    the g1s-b2 is a 15.4 inch.. the b2s are upgraded b1s: faster proc(2.4 ghz) , more ram (3 gigs), 7200rpm 200gb hd

    heres the link

    g1s-b2: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220256

    g2s-b2: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220255

and right now there is a $150 rebate which is the best deal yet on the laptops. And u get a free asus router from newegg. Good deal eh?

edit: i recommend the g1s-b2 btw. I did a lot of research, is best bang/buck. They are both reliable as well and Asus gives good warranty. But I hav the feeling they went from $100 to $150 rebate for a reason. They are tryin to sell these bad boys cuz of the new Asus models coming out

Just for wow, I'm not sure if it's really worth it. You could be better off with a normal G2, but a Sager NP5792 has better video performance and you could get it at almost the same price. In my opinion it is a better system overall, definitely better on the graphics part.

The G2S-B1 plays wow flawlessly. I have had a G2S-B1 for 6 months and I have no problems playing it at 1900x1280 in wow. my frame rates are at 56fps.
