I'm thinking of getting Fallout 3 for the PC, and I'm wondering if anyone else with the G50v has Fallout 3 as of yet.

What settings is the G50v able to run it at, and what frames are you getting? Your info will help me decide between PC or Xbox versions :D

I cant speak from personal experience but I expect that this laptop will be able to run it on all high w/o AA. But since I havent actually tested this myself, take my word with a pinch of salt

It probably can. I can run assassin's creed all high 2xAA at native res (1680*1050) but this game should push it a bit harder

I dont know if this helps but I have an asus F8 with the following specs

CPU Type Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53G
    Screen 14" WXGA+
    Memory Size 4GB DDR2
    Hard Disk 320GB
    Optical Drive DVD Super Multi
Graphics Card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650
    Video Memory 1024MB

Fall out 3 runs very slow at 15 fps on medium settings and drops to 5 fps. I updated my drivers but it did not help.

    I've got about 10 hours of Fallout 3 on my desktop which is an Intel C2D E7200 OC'ed to 3.16 GHz (FSB1333) w/4GB DDR2-800, Vista Ultimate SP1 (x64), and a VisionTek ATI 4850 512MB GDDR3.

If your notebook can play TES4 (Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion) well, then Fallout 3 should run about the same. With everything maxed out at 1920x1200 & 4xAA, with V-Sync on, some areas do drop to 5-10 fps. Performance under Assassin's Creed may not directly correlate to Fallout 3 performance because the Assassin's Creed engine is different (Scimitar Game Engine developed by Ubisoft).

    Cheers,
    Kermee

    I played this on MyG50VRAID640GB.
It plays great in native resolution, but setup said that default configuration is with medium settings. I didn't check settings in detail, but playing was smooth played ~ an hour, but didn't get out of vault i'll try to get out of it this weekend. :D
