Has anyone successfully flashed new data to their RAM in a G50? I have a couple of Hyundai sticks which handle high speeds pretty well, but to really push my fsb speed I would like to make the mobo think the 800mhz RAM is 667.

I have tried spdtool and thaiphoon (in XP x86 and 7 x64), but neither seems capable of writing anything.

Please don't suggest faster RAM--DDR2 doesn't come faster then 800mhz for laptops.

    Any recommendations?

If you mean I should try PC-8500 (1066mhz), that would be nice, but DDR3 RAM won't work on my motherboard.

I think the Hyundai memory sticks are unflashable since I'm having the same problem. Maybe a different brand of memory would work.

Okay, that's what I was afraid of. Maybe I'll pick up some kingston or ocz dimms.

I can confirm that Kingston Hyper-x KHX6400S2LLK2/4G is programable. I can force my RAM to be running on 667 Bus but it is no help for me to make CPU pass over 3.0 GHz

SpdTools or ThaiPhoon will work great.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll get some of that and see how it performs.
