hillo, havent been reading alot about the new G51....whats the over all thought on moving from a g51 with a 9800 to a G51? I can sell my g50 for 600.00....current system has CPU OCed to 2.7 and video bios uped a good bit, pulling 9500 in 3dmark at native res 1366x...

From what I heard it is not worth it, The new Asus runs very hot and has issues. Just wait til things are updated and fixed...

Your CPU is pulling up your GPU, but honestly, I would say maybe wait another year before upgrading, unless you really feel like you want a new laptop, or really feel that you can get the G51 for around 300 to 400 bucks. The only reason I suggest waiting is because, assuming you're a gamer, you will want a new GPU for DX 11, and will then want to buy another laptop soon after anyway. But again, if you really feel like you want a new system, then by all means.

If performance is the issues, it is my opinion that while the GTX 260m is more powerful than the 9800mGS, its not powerful enough to suggests an upgrade.

I got my upgrade free from Best Buy: I used my ADH warranty because I broke my G50. Asus authorized me to get an exchange, but they stopped making the G50 - but they had started to make the G51.

All in all, I think it's an all-around better laptop. Wait a little while to upgrade unless you really want to get more FPSs out of Crysis.

From an ergonomic standpoint, however, I think it's more than worth the upgrade.

If you have the ADH warranty, just... break it. I punched the center of the keyboard and it shattered the insides.

Then I told Best Buy that I just, you know, "dropped it."

    It's not fraud.

    It was accidental damage.

    From handling.

It's not like I meant to punch it.

    It just happened.
