Since monday i ve having some problems with the temp of my laptop, when im working with with the laptop on my desk the air from the vent starts to get really hot, i downloaded a program called speed fan to mesuare it and it turns out that the gpu its the one getting hot from 51 C-59C, im worried because at that time im not doing anything that uses the gpu a lot, it is reasonable for that it gets hot when playing COD 4, but not when im on the internet, can someone explain me why is this happening, should i get a cooling pad or ask for the warranty, Im also going to the physics lab in my university to ask for a laser termometer to check if the readings from speed fan are correct, any way it is hot....
thanks for respond

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
When you use a notebook with a powerful gpu, that generates heat even at idle and that has to be exhausted away from the components out the vent, right?
Mid-50s in an enclosed notebook chassis is slightly warm, but normal especially if your room temp is in the upper 70s-80 range.
You're getting way too worked up about this - skip the thermometer and everything else you're thinking about doing. It's fine, go and enjoy your purchase. -
Those temperatures are completely within reason for an idling 9800M.

Normal idle temperatures... I get ~51c idle browsing net with the GPU undervolted.
