So anyone else has this issue?

Sleep mode works fine but if it goes to hibernate, I cant resume...

It starts the resume screen and looks like its working, than it changes to the black screen with the blinking - at the top left, than that goes away and the screen just stays black.

Its not getting up enough to log anything about it so thats no help.

I have the 179.28 beta notebook drivers from nvidia site.

Normally I hear its video to cause this type of problem but its odd that sleep works and hibernate does not? Just in hopes I dont have to start playing the reload stuff game... I have not used hibernate ever on this notebook but did on the g50 I had before I exchanged it and it worked on that one.

    Also am running raid 0.

I know its many things it could be but just figure see if anyone with same notebook and drivers maybe had the issue also so I knew if it was that or not and wouldnt worry about it as much.

    **UPDATE**

Well now I am confused... So I removed the hibernate file and had it readd it to make sure it was good. Put in hibernate and than turn back on... This time I got past the black screen and it got into windows to say resuming or whatever (the second screen not the first one) and than it froze at that... So I turned off and back on, and told it to try to resume again and this time it worked.

    So its crazy.

Can anyone check the available options on their G50? Mine only supports S3 it says... You run it at a command prompt, powercfg -a will list what you can and cant do.

Just wondering if S3 is all it should say.

Only S3 for me. Says S1 and S2 are not supported, but I can do both Standby and Hibernate without issues. BIOS 209, probably same as you. BTW, is this plugged in, and is the battery also in? Sometimes it does weird things when I remove my battery and run only on AC, as it leaves me stuck in non-Aero mode.

It's a common problem on Vista.
Try download and install THIS hotfix from Micro$oft.
