Here is a new tread to report all new drivers coming out for the G50V. Please keep this to new driver and driver problem post only.

Just saw that 2 ATK Beta drivers are official

    ATKOSD2 Utility - Version V7.0.0002 - 2008/09/12

    ATK_Hotkey Utility - Version V1.0.0042 - 2008/09/12

New Vista 64 Video drivers and they rock. My system seems to run a little cooler.
    Nvidia Video Driver - Version V7.15.11.7623 - 2008/08/27

What exactly does ATK do? There's also an update for the Intel Wifi card. What other useful driver updates are there?

The 1.07 bios in on the website and I downloaded it and installed it on my system. Have not played with it a whole lot but I hope it fixes a lot of stuff. Would be nice if they gave a list of stuff it fixed.

I've had my G50V for just over a week. Early on I removed the Asus/Synaptics touchpad drivers and used the Microsoft default drivers. This worked fine, except I sometimes accidentially hit the touchpad as I type and get various unexpected results as the cursor goes flying.

Yesterday I updated to bios 207, installed the two updated ATK drivers, and the Touchpad driver V10.1.8.0 (which installs Synaptics driver v6.5). Now I can turn off the touchpad, which is welcome. Unfortunately, at startup my computer shows confirmation dialogs about running two Synaptics programs. I thought I unchecked the "always ask" box, but they keep appearing. I have also noticed a few dropped characters as I type. I don't know what to make of it.

Edited to add: The keyboard is definitely dropping characters now.

You could try the other fix, the script that puts the Synaptics processes to lower priority upon Windows startup. I think the thread describing that solution is linked from the 1st post in the G50 owner's lounge thread.

I upgraded to the 107 bios a couple of days ago and now my system seams to run really good and a bit cooler. Has anyone else had good luck too or if you have had issues what are they?

    Does you eSata port work?
Mine is still not working :S I'm sure that it's not the drive because it works perfectly when I'm using it with a usb port :S

My eSata port works great on my G50V-A2. The only thing that does not work is the over clocking in Direct Console.

I have tried it with 204,205, and 207. Direct Console works but when I try turbo or turbo extreme it will work for maybe 5 seconds then my mouse pointer will freeze for a second and go back to normal.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

This sounds like a horrible option but I loaded mine from complete scratch and loaded all the latest drivers and now my system runs flawless.

I may try that eventually. I don't know how much I would use the over clocking feature but it's nice to have everything working. I have 4 os's on here now (tweaked and running great on all) so it would take some time getting it all back.
    Thanks for the input!

Overclocking works on my G50V-A1 on all 204, 205 and 207.
This was done via Direct Console 2.0.

EDIT: On that note, since installing BIOS 2.5, my touch hotkeys don't work. Not a big deal since I rarely use these but...it would be nice to have a fully functioning computer in this household :p.

I just realised that after flashing into 207 if you disable the POST sound in Bios, you can still have sound after booting into Windows :D
