Anyone flash to this bios yet? I just d/led it, but it doesn't list what it fixes: The release date listed on it from ASUS bios flasher is 7/23/08, and it list Bios .203 from 7/04/08

I've been watching the BIOS page for a few days, since Wednesday. As far as I know the v.204 BIOS has been there for a while now, I dont know if anyone has flashed it but I'm pretty sure it doesnt fix the keyboard issues. According to Gentech's Ken Lee, ASUS is going to release a new BIOS to fix the keyboard issues found in the G50V soon, hopefully this monday or during the week.

    EDIT: Yeah nevermind, read above.

I ended up trying it, on first boot up I got a CheckSum error, but each boot up after that its been fine. It does say 204 now on boot up instead of 203.

I notice 1 minute its listed there. 1 minute its not, its odd, sometimes its listed when I browse with my desktop and not my laptop and vice versa. Asus driver website is horrid.

Is there any real reason to flash yet?

    Not necessarily...

ASUS aren't the best at posting changelogs with their BIOS releases...

Did you guys use the "Vista 32" or the "Any OS" version? How can you tell which to use and why? I'm runnig Vista 64bit, probably same as you and once I flashed, now the BIOS run TWICE fully before the system goes to windows.

BIOS is OS independent, those OS labels on support.asus.com are just side effects of the way the site is built, I guess.

I remember the double-POST issue. It's worrying. Does it disappear if you rollback (rewrite) the older BIOS? If it does, definitely stick with the older BIOS.

support.asus.com , click Download, search for "G50V", and look under the BIOS tab.

I updated to the 205 bios and my video drivers and now my system runs awesome and cooler for some reason. The video drivers are not posted under the G50V section but I got the latest ones on Asus website by going to the download page, Notebook, Drivers, VGA then click on the Vista 64 bit tab that comes up and DL Version V7.15.11.7623 which was posted 8-27-2008.
