I did a quick search, but didn't see any threads about this yet...hope this isn't a repost.

Anyway I'm wondering about the round orange grill on the bottom of the G50V. I know it's non-functional as an "air intake" but I'm wondering why. Did Asus worry that the vent would suck in too much dust/lint or something? Does the laptop get better cooling with the other vents alone?

What I'm really wondering is if anyone has modified the vent to be functional. I peeled off the black sticker that is covering the back side of the vent, but I found that even with the sticker removed the vent is not functional (it's a solid piece of plastic, clearly the piece is for decoration only).

I was thinking of ordering a spare bottom cover from Asus (if possible) and modding it to make the vent functional...that's why I'm asking.

Well, if this is a repost, I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction...if it's not, great :)
