I've been playing with ExpressGate a lot lately since I'm taking a trip soon and need to maximize battery time.

In my testing, I have noticed that when I play music in ExpressGate, my volume is SO much louder than in the Vista environment. Is this a driver issue? Does ExpressGate use different drivers since it's built upon Linux? I assume yes, but how do I emulate the volume boost in Vista? Vista's media player volumes are disappointingly low. I've tried many different players and they are all so low.

Any help or ideas would be great. Thanks.

I made a comment about this a week or so ago with G50v speakers being capable of MUCH more volume and being held back by the Realtek software. All we need is a custom EQ to boost volume or a better drive.

I have played around with third party EQs and was able to almost double my volume with out distortion probably can do even better with a EQ built into the realtek software

What did you use for that 3rd party EQ? I did a search and it looks messy without any clear choices.
