I read in some of the post on this forums that some people registering the asus G50V-A1 for Accidental Damage Warranty get this message :
" Were sorry to inform you that your ASUS notebook computer is not qualified for this ADW program, because your ASUS notebook computer may be either subject to different product warranty terms or the purchase of your ASUS notebook computer was made prior to Sept. 10, 2007. For example, some retailers require notebook vendors to provide one-year product warranty only for notebooks."
Since this notebook didnt exist back then thats just freaking impossible.
anyone of you was able to register the Accidental Damage Warranty? or its all of them doing that. I thought maybe it was because of the bestbuy model that dont have the Accidental Damage Warranty maybe they ****ed up and when you register it thinks you have an G50V-X1 or something. Plz tell us if you had problem registering the warranty or if everything went right. My notebook is coming today, I would hate to not be able to register it (its the G50V-A1 model)

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
OK, everyone take a deep breath
There appear to be several forum members who have now indicated this problem when they attempted online registration, so it appears to be a real issue.
However, the next step would be to call Asus support and discuss with them what is going on with the ADP registrations, and it appears that no one has yet actually taken that step. Before we all get excited jumping up and down over this, everyone needs to realize that this is going to be a database glitch on Asus' side since the ADP will be in force and we just need Asus to realize this.
For G50V owners who have encountered this problem so far -- someone PLEASE call Asus and then report back to the forum what the results of that conversation are so everyone will know what the situation is and what they need to do, before we spend a lot of time and energy worrying about it. -
Thats what i will do when will get mine today. I will call them and ask about this. Just hope we will actually get the Accidental Damage Warranty. Thats one of the main reason why I buy an Asus laptop.
-
I did call them and the guy didn't really know why. He just told me that there might be something wrong with their system and just to mail in warranty card. Didn't really get much help..

I was going to mail in the card, Have not gone and done it yet.
I'll have our spokes person Ken ask about this if he has not already done so -
Asus is aware of the online registration problem, people can just call their toll-free number to register by phone, they have one person there in customer service doing the phone registration for customer and her name is Vanessa.
The problem with their database is it's not up to date, it does not recognize the new serial numbers especially the new shipments. -
Hey I was just trying to do this last night for my beautiful A2 from GenTech, and I'm glad it wasn't because mine was never put into the books. Guess I'll call the number in a little bit.
BTW does the warrenty start from the date of purchase or the date of registration? If I registered tomorrow would it be 365 days from that point? -
ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Date of purchase. It always is.

Hmm I will use the phone method then whats the #? I see in my warranty card a service number but it does not mention anything about warranty registration, same goes for the online url.

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
I would expect that they're either doing that directly from the main CS number, or they'll transfer you to the correct desk/department.

Gah yeah they transferred me and it rank 80 times and no answer

When call their toll-free number don't press 4 during this message:
"Thank you for calling Asus notebook division, to ensure quality support and for future training purposes, all your call maybe monitor and recorded.
If you know the extension of the party you wish to reach, you may enter it at anytime during this message.
For a French speaking representative press one, otherwise please remain on the line.
For technical support except notebook support please call 812.282.2787."
Now you can press 4 for customer service during this message:
"For notebook pre-sale press 2, for EeePC and notebook technical support press 3, for notebook customer service press 4." -

Thats what I called, first time they picked up fast but when i was transferred no answer, now I have called back 3x and no answer from the main line.
I guess maybe I will try another day and hope for better luck. -

So do you register the date that you pre-ordered the system or the day your credit card was charged? There is quite a bit of time in between the pre-order and the charges placed to my card. I don't wanna run into problems down the line.
-
I attempted to register for my G2S and encountered the same issues. They said they never received my registration and did not know any of my information. Even after talking to a manager, they refused to help. I have sense given up and am just waiting to upgrade, only another year to go

I posted somewhere that I got mine to register online, and I did it by reading the SN off the bottom of the unit, I was pretty sure my warranty card had the wrong number on it because when I went to do it after losing my card the auto complete still had the old number saved and it did not match the one I was typing in.
