So basically my G50V cannot detect my battery. I took out the battery after it was fully charged and left it on top of my dresser overnight. The next day, I plugged it back in and my laptop won't turn on. Even the light for the express gate isn't working.

When I plugged it into the AC, it works. In Windows, it detects it and says that its 99% charged and also my OLED display is saying the same thing too. When I unplug the AC though, my laptop just dies automatically.

I called Asus up yesterday and the guy said it's probably the battery and that I should call back again if it still doesn't work. Then they'll give me an RMA number for the battery. So I called back again today, and told them my problem and this other guy says that it's probably a connection problem between the motherboard and battery and that I have to send in my entire laptop.

What's really the problem? I don't really want to send in my laptop because of school and finals which are approaching fast.

Sorry, can't tell without seeing the laptop and battery. Both ASUS theories are good: bad battery and bad connectors. Another would be bad motherboard or something that means it can't work off the battery.

For the bad connectors, you can inspect the connectors and see if there is anything obviously wrong.

If you have access to another battery or similar laptop, you could do some more testing. Otherwise, you will probably have to send the laptop in.

    Thank you =)

Well I called them up again to see if I could just get a battery replacement and the new representative set it up for me. Hopefully the new battery will fix the problem. If not, then I'll have to send my laptop in.
