Hello. My friend has a G50V-X1 he purchased from Best Buy a couple of weeks ago or so.

Today, he was using it at his university, and the battery cut out. Now that he has gotten home, he realizes now that the battery will not charge at all and is stuck at a 72% charge. He's been upset about it since the battery cut out on him. He has removed the battery and re-put it back into the battery bay, but it still will not charge. Vista is recognizing that it has a battery in the bay, but it will not charge. If he disconnects the AC power, the laptop immediately shuts off.

Is there anything he can do to see what the problem could be so that he doesn't have to drop it back off to Best Buy? Or does he have to do that anyway?

Ok, apparently my friend has tried this already. It didn't work either. This is what he had to say in response:

"my bios didn't have a battery learning setting apparently"

So uhm.... what to do now? RMA it to Best Buy?

Ah alright. My friend will try that then. Hopefully they will let him exchange batteries.

    Thanks for your help. @_@

Can you please help? I have a Toshiba Satellite L25-S121 laptop with a new battery (actually the second new one) and when I want to use the laptop as wireless, the computer will not operate. Plugged in, everything is OK. What can I "simply" do? Thank you!

Hi sagoli~ welcome to NBR! You may want to try posting your question on the Toshiba forum since the folks there would probably be more knowledgeable pertaining to your laptop. On the other hand, some of the common troubleshooting tips would to try and reinstall your wireless drivers and/or download the newest drivers from the Toshiba website and try those.
