I have a G50VT-X5 that is making a really weird noise - a long, sustained beep that's periodically interrupted by a higher pitched beep. It's driving me nuts. Any suggestions what I can do to fix this?

this sound is audible through headphones, as well as through the laptop speakers...and apparently when I plug in headphones, sound continues to play from the laptop speakers as well which is EXTREMELY bothersome...any ideas anyone?

Check your CPU temps. The beeps you describe is a sign of your CPU overheating for desktop PCs and it might also be for laptops too.

The CPU temps are normal, I think this ringing (which is really a better way to describe the sound) is an audio problem...would new drivers help? I thought the ones that came with this notebook were already the most recent though

also, this noise only happens after another sound is made on the notebook, for instance when playing a song. ANYTHING with sound results in this noise happening..

Are these beeping/ringing sound similar to a BIOS beep?

You could try new drivers, no harm done there. Check the asus website for those. You could try a pair of usb speakers too if you have them and see if they get the ringing.

If you're under warranty I would send it in, but I can't help you much more than that.

    good luck man
