    Hello,

Can you point me to what drivers I need to update?
I tried laptoptogo and am confused on what to download for video and sound updates.

I am getting a random clicking sound from external speakers and am concerned.
If I return it to Amazon, a 15% restock fee will incur.

    Thanks

Thanks, the clicking sound seems to be coming from my external speakers plugged into the laptop

Do you have any USB devices plugged in near the speaker jack on the laptop? I seem to remember some thread talking about interference with that situation. If you do have a USB device plugged in next to the speaker jack, try moving it to the over side of the laptop or to the back USB port and see if it gets better.

I'll post again if I can find that thread.

I had a usb drive plugged into the back of the g50.
The speaker was about 8 inches away.
I removed it and so far, I do not hear any sound.
    Good catch.

Now I have to decide if I can live with the amount of bleeding on the screen. It is not too much, but bothers me because I never noticed it on my previous computer (mac)

Glad that solved the issue. If I remember correctly it wasn't the distance from the USB to the speaker but more of a problem how the USB cables were routed in the laptop. (Again if I remember correctly) The usb cables ran near something on the sound circuit which could cause noise from the speakers. If you used a USB further from the speaker jack, you were less likely to have a problem.

I'm a bit surprised it was still the issue since you were on the back USB jack. Most people only had problems with the two USB jacks on the right side near the speaker jack.

It's unfortunate but I think it's just one of those Asus bugs. Overall though, it is a great laptop for the price.

I just found out they make a 17" gamer G71.

I may exchange it for that. Not sure.
