I don't know why it can be on my laptop because I heard many things on 32bit windows can not utilize more than 3GB RAM.

If anyone has more experience on this, correct me if I wrong.

Windows will display 4GB in several places that is known. Will not be able to use all of it. Hell im running a 160 gig hdd on a hard drive controller that cant use more then 137 gb. If i put any data past 137 gb it isnt heard from again.

I'm not 100% sure, but it is possible that Windows 2003 enables PAE in such a way that 36bit RAM addressing is possible. PAE's ability to address more than 4GB of RAM is disabled in all 32bit MS commercial OSes XP SP2 and up.

Considering that 2003 is really a business OS, it is possible that MS allows PAE to actually function in the way it was intended to originally. But once you update to the latest service pack (if there is one, I think you can get SP4 for that OS), then you might find that you can no longer access all 4GB of RAM.

Greg is correct. The PAE in windows server 2003 is capable to utilize more than 4GB of ram despite being a 32bit OS.
