If you're a gamer, make sure you can live with the low display resolution before buying. Gamer beware!

Search for "asus g50" -
Wow, thats a good deal.
-
It's a very good system if you can live with the low display resolution and no bluetooth.

It's a great deal, except for the resolution, which is terrible, and absolutely kills the deal for me.

Go with the G50vt-X2 at www.newegg.com. Better Display, better warranty.
Or better yet, G50vt-A1.
You get what you pay for. -
I bought this when it was 200.00 more, and can say its a fine rig, wish i would have waited to save.....the res is some what a bummer, but really not a big deal in game. I have an external 1680x1050, and really i prefer the native on the laptop. At this price, only fools imo pass. Theres no way blue tooth and a slightly better res is worth nearly x2 the price.

350.00 fair, yeah i duno about the res dude im a long time gamer, many many systems, and truly i think lower res is more of an issue outside games, workable desktop space, not in game. With that said im not a fan of 640x480. Also, id give up the res for the color of the notebook.....i no tlikely orange. I dont think anyone can say this is a bad deal, either way.

To me, the graphics card is what matters most. Same graphics card + a higher resolution is a no-no. I really want to max out games 1-2 years from now at native res, and not have to deal with non-native res blurriness.
-
I run my games on 1280x720 usually. My native is 1440x900. No blurriness. -
No idea why people complain about the resolution on the X1, you may enjoy squinting at a pointlessly high res on a 15" monitor, I sure don't.
The whole "TOO LOW FOR GAMERS LOL" argument is even more idiotic, what gamer would want to sacrifice PQ/performance for a higher native resolution? -
You can switch out the LCD for a higher res one.
It's been done in a similar scenario (Gateway P-6831FX) -
I got in on this deal today after being in the market for a gaming laptop for a long time. 999$ for a machine of this caliber cant be topped at the moment. The resolution thing is actually a plus to me; because this means I can run games at native resolution for the life of the machine. (can also run higher quality settings) LCDs always look their best at native res, and this is no exception. I garuntee you this screen looks better than a 1920x1080 screen being forced to a lower non-native res. Go check it out for yourself. I also have not experienced any keyboard issues as of yet that seemed to have plagued this machine in the past. I played Left4Dead with the machine in the fastest overclock setting which clocks the machine to 2.5ghz. I experienced uber smooth gameplay at native res, all options on high for 2 hours, no lockup. Cheers to anyone else who is getting in on this awesome deal!

Why! Wont! They! Ship! Internationally!
Ah well I better live with it... living in a third world country is a pain in the . -
The 15.6" in the G50 isn't exactly easily available right now, so most users will have to wait before being able to upgrade. -
-
I feel your pain, the laptops here in the uk are hysterically overpriced, seeing as a bit more export wont exactly hurt the US economy. Asus, Why dont you guys just sell this ruddy laptop in the UK already... -
Have a friend in the US buy it and ship it
