Apparently you should get the M50 keyboard, according to the G50 parts listing on the ASUS eStore:

Wait for confirmation (or call eStore to confirm) before buying, though. -
Yeah, the M50 and G50 use the same keyboards, however, in the G50, they have additional color and arrows on a few keys to make it more "gaming" orientated. If you want to make sure you get the "G50" version, you should call the Asus estore and place your order.

It seems that the keyboard is out of stock, is there anywhere else i can get a keyboard from? I tried searching ebay but couldent find anything. Thanks in advance.

Im guessing your out of warranty? I heard asus will send you a keyboard under warranty.

I'm not sure if this would work for Best Buy purchased Asus notebooks, but I would try and contact Asus and ask if they can help you schedule a cross-ship for your keyboard. This would probably work best if you can't part with your notebook for several days.

You can check on ebay for the keyboard.

I take the lack of G50 parts on ebay to actually be a good sign that people have not had a mass amount of total failures and that ASUS has been getting broken stuff fixed.
As far as your warranty its not a best buy warranty unless you bought and are under the extended. The 1 year warranty is through the manufacturer unless the manufacturer says so. Prior to geeksquad BB customer service sent you to the manufacturer if you were past the in store return period.
I would call ASUS dont mention best buy unless they ask, sometimes you get better service that way. -
I found this link for a keyboard. But im not sure if its the one i need for my G50VT-X1, it says its compatible with G50's but i notice in the picture that there is no Number pad. Can anyone confirm this is the right one? Thanks.

What link do you mean?
Usually submodel changes do not change the layout or connector of the keyboard, so I expect the G50 series keyboard to work for all G50 models. But that's by no means guaranteed, of course.
