I bought this laptop two months ago and it's worked perfectly until yesterday. I was playing Unreal Tournament 3 until I experienced a large frame drop to about 10-15 fps. I've restarted the computer to see if it would reset but I had no luck. I decided I should leave the computer until the next day hoping that the laptop just needed to cool down.
Windows takes a lot longer to load and applications hang and take awhile as well. I'd say the computer is performing 3-4 times slower than it did before. Also none of the items on the desktop are loading but they are there when I open windows explorer.
So I was just wondering if anybody has experienced this or has any idea what this could be. Thanks for your time.

What Battery mode are you in? to me it sounds like you dropped to battery saving/quiet office which could choke the CPU. (In quiet office, desktop icons will not show as well)

Oh thanks that did the trick! I thought I'd have to send it in but it turned out to be something simple. I guess I accidently pressed one of the buttons up top.
Thanks for the help.
