    X2 (newegg model)
    Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4G
    320GB 7200 rpm
    NVIDIA GeForce 9800M(256bit) GS 512MB DDR3
    4GB DDR2

    A1 (Standard)
    Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53GHz
2x 250GB 5400RPM SATA hard drives woth Raid
    NVIDIA GeForce 9700M(128bit) GT 512MB DDR3
    4GB DDR2

I was wondering which would be the better choice, with the priority of gaming.

I like the processor, and Raid, on the A1, but what I'm questioning Is if the 9800M GS is worth the pros of the A1.

PS Is there any benchmarks on the X2, cant seem to find any

For gaming get the X2. But keep in mind that it has a lower resolution screen than the A1. Why don't you wait for the G50Vt-A1 instead? It combines the best of the G50Vt-X2 and the G50V-A1. And yes, the 9800M GS is effectively a lower clocked 9800M GTS. However because of this, the G50Vt-X2 has a poorer battery life than the G50V-A1. Though, you claim that gaming is most important to you so I guess this point doesn't really matter. BTW, The T9400 is the CPU from Intel which I think has the best balance of performance and price.

Wait a while, I'm sure there'll be a reviews popping up of the G50Vt-A1 when it's properly released.

Thanks for pointing me into the right direction. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the G50Vt-A2 w/o the BD Drive, Its wierd because Xotic has that config of the A2 cheaper than the standard A1 even though you get 640gb over the 500gb with the A1. Anyways thanks thats exactly what I'm looking for.

You need to take other factors into consideration as well, x2 has cpu rated 10w lower, one less hard drive, any difference in Gpu ought to be offset.

Since Vt version is not significantly changed inside from G50V, Asus putting 9800m gs, surely implys there is not much difference in power drew between 9800m gs and 9700m. The latter is not exactly power friendly, nor is the battery of G50 series generally good; People purchasing a laptop like this is not the very likely getting it for the portability&battery life.

Imo P9500 has better ratio, its the current highest spec 25w cpu of the line up. It has the goodness of the other 35w cpu - 6mb L2 cache, 1066mhz fsb without compromising battery under heavy load. Depends where you get it, it can be cheaper than T9400 while being more energy efficient.

I believe that, indeed, the X2 is a NewEgg-specific model. (But I'm not entirely sure about that)

There is also the p9600, also 25w. the p9500 is clocked at 2.53 (I think). but there is a bit of confusion about wether the p9600 is clocked at 2.66 or 2.80.
    I've seen both given.

That looks pretty promising, I could imagine intel cutting P9500's price to about $313 then, while pushing P9600 at $350.
