    Hi all,

I was wondering if someone could explain to me how I have to OC my hardware in W7. I've tried some things out, but no luck at all.

SetFSB: No idea what generator thingy I have to choose.
RivaTuner: Windows 7 has this nasty habit of only wanting to install signed drivers, I've tried some bootup tweaks and a little piece of software which would disable the signed driver requirement and let me install unsigned drivers, but it doesn't seem to work.
    ATITool: Same as RivaTuner

I could just flash my GPU bios, but I'd rather don't flash it until I know for sure my card is able to handle the clocks.

EDIT: I did just manage to get ATITool working so I'm going to check out how high I can go with this overclock and if I can run the GTS clocks stable I'll flash my bios.

Go search a bit in the various huge G50 threads for the PLL for SetFSB

    I will, thanks!

Now the OC of the 9800m GS, ATITool didn't work out.
So I downloaded ntune, I haven't tried the actual OC yet, but there are certain parts of ntune(like system information ...) that cause a BSOD, but I'm pretty sure that's because I'm using DOX + Windows 7, while ntune doesn't support W7(part of it works though because of the fact it does support vista).

I just don't want to blindly flash my gfx card, but this checking out its max thingy is getting hard -.-

EDIT: Another weird thing, for some reason I can only set Core and Mem Clock, Shader Clock is nowhere to be found...

I'm cool with DC OCing so I'll leave it at that.

You have to install nTools. nTunes will give you a BSOD but its fine when installed with nTools.

@hidavi: I didn't install DC because of the fact it sucks for the OLED ... I only used it for 4 hours on my vista installation and I already have a burn-in on my OLED, what a fail ...

    I'll try nTools, thanks.

EDIT: Why is it I can't seem to find anything on nTools?
EDIT2: Nvm, Found it on laptopvideo2go.com

Just OC'ed with SetFSB from 2.13Ghz to 2.40Ghz running stable after 30min of stress testing with Prime95 and not reaching temps higher than 74(CPU) and 77 (Cores) degrees.

If there are others looking for the G50VT PLL codes:
    - ICS9LPR604AGLF: Works, but doesn't show the right FBS and stuff
    - ICS9LPR363DGLF: Best one to use, shows right FBS.(Wrong MEM though, it calculates for a 1:1 divider, while G50VT has 2:3 standard)

Now I'm going to try and find a stable undervolt.
Right after that, try out nTools and see if it can handle the GTS speeds.

Oh yeah, I pushed the CPU to 2.48 or something, but since it was the max freq SetFSB permitted(probably some setting I'd have to change) I put it back to 2.4 because that's more then enough for now. (I play games, but mostly older games since I've got a PS3).

EDIT: uh, RmClock gives me temps that are at least 25 degrees lower than Everest.
EDIT2: Speedfan gives me a little bit higher then RMClock does.
Why do I have the feeling it's Everest that's wrong? I mean, it's WAY higher then the other two, maybe I'll try a newer version of Everest later on.

Here's a screen with the temperatures on the different apps: Screen

Everest is probably wrong. These programs don't directly measure temperature but instead runs data through an algorithm to calculate it. If some of them are not new enough, they may be unable to correctly calculate the temps.

Are you sure about that? Doesn't it read out DTS?
