So I recently purchased this model from J&R. I specifically checked with them first and they confirmed that it WAS eligible for the upgrade. However, they are now telling me that it is not.

Does anyone know for sure and has anyone successfully registered? My serial # is 16 digits long, so I get an error when I enter it online.

Ah - oh well. I'm trying to decide what to do now and whether the savings on this refurb outweigh the cost of purchasing my own copy of Windows & + the extended warranty I added on my own.

Funny enough, the other laptop in your sig was my second choice. How do you like it? I'm thinking about switching mine out.

    panzer,
If your experience is the same as mine, a week after that email, you will get:

We regret to inform you that the serial number 96N0ASK00000000 (Notebook) you provided is not eligible for Windows® 7 upgrade program.
