So I was just looking around and saw this so called 2009 model of the G50vt...

    G50Vt-B1

It looks the same as the G50Vt-A2 except its a few hundred cheaper AND it has an even faster processor... The T9550 @ 2.66Ghz.

Thats crazy. How can it be better yet cheaper and thats the only diffrence, lol.

Man Asus is going nuts with all these models...

They mine as well have made a G50vt barebone for us. LOL

    **Update**
Okay I see one thing diffrent, it does not have blue ray, but for the few hundred you save you can buy the drive and thats much more safer to change than a CPU so this is still a steal.

Would have been nice to see the P9600 in it instead. (Asus is just strange, it cost about the same and is better CPU). Whats next, another G50 with a new video card and quad core? lol

Many said jonhapimp was just on a crazy rant when he posted that thread about Asus having too many models. Well, he does have a point.

There is nothing wrong with a range of models, but at least come up with a logical naming and pricing scheme.

Consider the blu-ray option is still a hefty upgrade, B1 isn't that much better, have to wait for B2 for that; which according to Xtoic PC, is not planned for a while saddly; unlike some other manufactures, its GPU is still 9800m GS 512mb, as oppose to the growingly popular 1 gig model...

Whats the G50vt-B2 going to have diffrent than the A2?

B1 is same as A2 just no blue ray. I assume B2 would be better than B1 so what will it have? lol

B1 is A1 with updated CPU (2.66Ghz)and dual 320 gb drive; A1 had 2x250GB and 2.53 Ghz CPU.

A1 didn't have bluray either by default

So since the B1 does not have Blu-ray drive but has T9550 2.66, which laptop would u recommend to buy? A2 or B1? Whats best for your dollar $$$
EDIT: I noticed in a few pictures of the G50VT-A2 that there was a subwoofer below the laptop, is there or im looking at a wrong model?

    EDIT 2:
    Found my answer lol

    Thanks
