    Hi Everyone,
I currently own the old G50 Best Buy Model with the Nvidia 9700 card. At first, I was pretty excited about the new look and Nvidia 9800 video card in the new model. However, I noticed a few missing features.

    1. Is there a modem??? What happened to it??? This may not be a big deal for some users, but I like to fax from my computer once in a while.

    2. Why is bluetooth still missing??? I thought that for sure this would be added. I have a lot of devices that use bluetooth. I know I can simply pop a dongle in the USB port, but there's more than enough room for an internal one.

    3. Why is the decorated fan vent fake??? If you pop the bottom door open, you'll see that the vent is actually closed off. It was closed off on the old model, and it continues to be closed off on the new model. I don't see any heat issues with my old model, but I'm sure the 9800 could use some extra circulation.

The first two issues could probably be corrected by seeking my nearest Asus reseller. However, they're not irritating enough to be worth the trouble. The third issue is still mind boggling.

Lol... I haven't heard the term zip drive for a while! That reminds me, I still have a few blank 100mb zip disks collecting dust in my room since the 90s.

Lol... those posts made me laugh. Trust me, I'm not that old fashion. I've never owned a computer for more than a year without an upgrade. I also don't believe in paying top dollar for a computer that should have all the basic features (even if it is a Best Buy model). However, with techology getting cheaper, you would have thought that a modem and bluetooth card wouldn't have been such a big deal. I gave in a bought a bluetooth dongle for the older model. But I really do need a modem to perform my mobile office duties. It really sucks having to pull over at the nearest officemax, stapes, or office depot to send a simple fax. I don't know why the world can't let go of fax and function off email. It would definitely make my life easier.

P.S. - Yes I do know that they make USB modems too. But who wants to fly mobile with a bunch of wires or antennas sticking out.
