I bought my G50 by my friend in America and I'm in China now. Today I received my laptop and I find a prob.

when i put my earphone in the headphone socket, i heard some eletronic noise after the computer played some sound like "Pa","Clerk" It lasted about 10 seconds and when the noice over, it makes a blowing noise slightly.

    Is it a widespreaded prob?

Yes, this is a common problem with most if not all G50 notebooks.

True. I'm a little lazy to find the thread, but the short story is that any device (mouse, flash drive in my case) plugged into the USB ports on the right hand side causes interference with the audio out port. So if you use headphones, there are only 2 usable USB ports.

EDIT: Looks like it is not just confined to the G50. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=288049&highlight=g50+usb+headphone

yeah dont use the usb port next to the line in/mic in .....

The only other solution is buy a usb souncard and plug your headset in like that... creative x-fi go! works great for me.

When I first got my G50 I was using a pair of earbuds with it and had my usb mouse plugged in. It made a constant whine noise that was really annoying. Shortly thereafter I got a decent open-air headset with in-line volume. Now I put Windows volume and 100% and adjust the volume with the headset and that annoying noise is only occasionally heard when stuff is loading.

I think it has more to do with the quality of your headphones and not the G50. I use a set of professional Sony headphones and my USB mouse is plugged into the port directly adjacent to the audio jack and I have no interference.

No, it's a confirmed problem with the G50 series... if you have USB stuff try using a dedicated hub or moving from port to port until the noise gets less severe... there will of course be some noise no matter what, since it's integrated audio, and subject to bus noise... that's why it makes chirping sounds when the HDD is accessed

usb headphones are Digital, so there would be no interference, you can just buy a USB Headphone reciever, it comes with a mic port too.

I'm currently writing this, with my headphones plugged in (Zune 120 premium headphones, they are decent) and I have a usb wireless mouse plugged right next to the jack... I hear nothing.
