I'm not seeing what the difference is between these 2 notebooks. Could someone please help me out with the pros and cons?
The price difference is 50 dollars at best buy. The cheaper one seems faster to me, but the ram is faster on the x5. Which one is newer?

I took a closer look. Looks like the differences based on the Bestbuy website are:
* P8400 (2.26GHz) (x1) vs P7450 (2.13GHz) (x5)
* 4GB PC2-5300 DDR2 memory (x1) vs 4GB PC2-6400 DDR2 memory (x5)
* Laptop cover has a different color pattern
I am unsure if the memory quoted for the x1 but otherwise there is no reason why the x5 is more expensive.
Both processors have 3MB L2 cache as far as I can tell.
The CPU on the x5 is definitely newer according to this

The X1 has PC2-6400 memory as well, there must be a misprint.
The X5 has a higher-capacity battery. -
I will be ordering the x1 if Best Buy still has some in a week when HP refunds my money. It looks like the X5 will be my 2nd choice if they sell out before then.
I wish I could get the x1 with that extended battery. It's mainly going to sit on my desk. I see people complain about the extended battery of their x5s. If they are swappable I'd be willing to trade a new x1 battery for a new x5 battery. -
Unless I'm mistaken, there will be a g50vt-x9 in the coming weeks.

Are you sure about it ?
I just bought the X1 from ebay but did not pay still.
I can ask the seller that I don't want to pay.
But why it is named x9 not x7 or x8 or something like that?
And from where did you brought the news.
Did you read it somewhere?
Or is it just an assumption?
Do you think it is worth it to wait?
Thanks -
I asked a reseller, who given me that info. There is no spec yet.

oh ok
I will go with the X1 because who knows how will the new x9 be.
May be it is again a downgraded version.
Anyway I got a good deal on Ebay. $930 + shipping. The new one will be costlier I guess. -
I've heard some conflicting points of view on this but I don't know either.
