I've never really bothered to check my temps, but since I've been playing Aion I've noticed my laptop has been getting annoyingly hot. It's getting uncomfortable on my hands and wrists.
I decided to undervolt my CPU and get HWMonitor... everything was set up smoothly so I went and played Aion for just 30 minutes... max GPU temperature got up to 104c! That's way too hot!
The good news is my CPU never exceeded 64c thanks to my awesome undervolting. It used to max around 82c.
What can I do? I've blown it out with compressed air in the past but this is nuts! Should I open it up to do a better job blowing out the dust? Will this give me warranty problems?

Wow, I just completely fixed the problem by dropping Dox's drivers. I switched from Dox's 185.85 to Asus' 186.37 and my GPU temps haven't exceeded 84c. What's up with that! I wish I had known that sooner, who knows how many years I took off this GPU's life with those temps

I also have DOX's 185.85 nvidia drivers installed and they run incredibly hot on my 9800m GS (undervolted). Just in Need for Speed Underground 2 alone, temps reach 90C. Still, my temps have never exceeded 93C.
I am going to switch to the newest Nvidia drivers and see what happens. -
remember dox's drivers are based off of desktop drivers so the run hotter by nature.

In defense of Dox, they are also meant to squeeze every little bit of speed out of your card.
Strangely enough, Dox 185.85 showed a temperature drop in most of the G51s. -
yes mine runs cooler also under dox 185.85
G50v GPU Temperatures up to 104c?!
