Well I started posting to the other topic about direct console not doing any OC, how it jumps back after a few seconds but while trying to figure that out I ran into this.

I want others to chime in and verify if theirs does this also.

The T9400 is rated for 1.050V-1.162V

Mine idel's at about 1.063 with the sped of 1596Mhz CPU (1064FSB).

When get a load going on the CPU it goes up to 2527Mhz (I guess its under always because the FSB does not go to 1066 like it should (sometimes it jumps to that but rare) Anyway at this speeds its @ 1.288v

Sometimes inbetween heavy CPU load and idel it gets 1.113v.

Now here is when I get worried even more... I see it sometimes hit 1.363 but it seems random and only for a few moments.

So even if I wanted to pass he 1.363 off as a bug or something how come on full load its at 1.288 which is over he max 1.162 intel made them for?

Anyone else see this in CPU-z? I have latest ver... I guess the two I am more wondering is whats everyones else show idel and whats yours show under load?

I just find it odd that asus goes higher than it should, also dont like how the FSB never is at 1066... Normally they are 1066.9 or something but no a whole few MHz under.. oh well. Just wanted to share that and see about others.

Now only if my darn overclock would stay working in DC and not go back to normal..

Yes, Asus seem to be over volting the chips. I think its to do with the overclocking software as I cannot find any way to adjust the voltage up enough to allow for their overclock without the overvoltage without them forcing the overvoltage.

Still, I use CrystalCPU to undervolt my CPU now except when I am overclocking it from 2.53GHz to 2.85GHz using setFSB.

One other thing you may find, if you look in CPUz and you have DDR3 the actual DIMS they use are capable of running a lot faster than they are defaulted to in the BIOS, again to allow overclocking the CPU.

What chipset are you using in set FSB

I hate to use another program to overclock because direct console is already on and figure why have more things running than need... That only causes more overhead and more questions in the event of issues ever.

I understand the overvoltage on an OC but running normal speed it shouldnt be over voltaged... Asus really needs to learn how to do things. Overvoltage only when overclocking, have the program do at same time. Dont do overvoltage at bios level and than programs to overclock the FSB for everything else... And even with that in mind, it shouldnt need to over voltage that MUCH for only 100 or 200MHz change... They are doing 10-15% without an overclock and 15-20% with overclock...

What a mess, lol I just dont want my laptop to die right when the warranty ends...

If they didnt over voltage it would run cooler and last longer (given it was stable of course)
