Anyone notice that the top right just next to the touchpad gets hot? I thought it was the HD at first as their is one under that but found that turning the touchpad off with the button that turns the light off also causes it to get very cool again.
I wouldnt think a light would cause so much heat.. It takes about 10 minutes from boot to get warm but if you turn the touchpad off and give it about 20 minutes you can tell the diffrence like day and night.
I was worried about heat because the HDD but it seems its not them causing that heat.
It a design thing I guess because they all do it.
Makes me wish I could disable the light but keep the touchpad on. They should give us more options.

It doesn't happen on my G50V but I do remember someone posting about this before, I can't find the thread sorry

Well. If you install LCD Hype you can have your touchpad and not have it lit. Not exactly sure exactly how to go about doing it but it's possible.

My G50v, and 2 G50vt I have now and the one I sent back all did it... I just didnt know until now it was the touchpad... Always thought one of the HDD just got warmer.
You sure you checking in the right spot on yours? I mean the right side of the touchpad is always cool but its just to the top right corner of it right in the spot the black starts from the silver... Its not a big spot that gets hot, just a small circle maybe the size of a few thumbs...
You sure on this? I have not checked myself nor tried the LCD Hype because I like the direct console option to overclock easy and its all one program... If I use LCD Hype than I have to install yet another program to overclock... lol I just like as few things installed as possible and other than this directconsole did everything I cared for. -
Oh I don't overclock all that often nor use directconsole very much. All I really use is the LCD screen above the keyboard. Keep forgetting that others may use it more often than I.

Yes, I know, it's why I mentioned that I had heard of it before. I don't experience it myself...
