I don't know if I am the only one to experience this issue with the G50 but recently my touchpad has been going kind of crazy on me. Every time I go to change the volume on my computer the touchpad disables/enables with every press of the volume key. Even as I typed this post my touch pad started disabling and enabling for no apparent reason. The lights around the touchpad come and go and the label on the screen comes up saying "touchpad enabled, touchpad disabled". I don't know to much about computers so I don't know how I can help you guys diagnose the problem. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary with the computer so I am at a loss right now.

Try reinstalling the synaptics touchpad drivers. You can find them in your drivers disk or the Asus website.
