What do I need to add a 2nd HDD to my G50vt-A1? I have read that it requires an adapter or something. Is it possible mine already came with the adapter?

If not where can I order it and how much is it?

The G50Vt-A1 should already have an extra HDD caddy in your second HDD bay. Check to see if you have it, and if not, you can get one from the Asus estore. They're out of stock at the moment, but if you call, they should be able to order one for you.

Even without the bracket, you can put in a 2nd HDD. I just got a 500GB HDD and plugged it into the 2nd bay.

Does my notebook have a 7200 RPM drive in it now? If it does the noise and vibration does not bother me nor does it have heat issues. (I don't OC at all currently).

Could I easily install a 7200 RPM drive in it without causing heat issues?

I have 2 7200rpm drives, they keep themselves well under 45C basically all the time. The G50vt runs relatively cool, don't worry about heat. Asus knew what they were doing when they designed this :)
