    This one's more toward G50vt owners:

    I recently updated my Forceware drivers from 182.xx or 181 (can't remember) to 185.85. My idle GPU temperature has since gone up from ~53C to ~60C. Full load temps are still the same, so I'm thinking it has something to do with powermizer settings, so I go to check the current clocks. Turns out the GPU is stuck on the second powermizer level, 275-550-300, instead of the lowest one, 169-338-100.

    Doesn't bother me too much aside from maybe 5-10 minutes of battery life. Any clue why it's stuck?

    I'm having this issue as well. Only noticed it about 2 days ago.

    Are you using regular or DOX drivers?

    hklm/system/current control set/control/video/< one of the options>/<001 or 000 or both>

    check whether PowerMizerLevelAC is at 1 and PowerMizerDefault is at 3. reboot if changed.
    (PowerMizerLevel should be 3, PerfLevelSrc 0x3333)

    if that doesnt work, consider upgrading to 186.08.

    Regular notebook drivers from nVidia. I found them when installing some stuff for CUDA.

    I got to the hklm/sys/ccs/control/video but didn't find any keys or data with PowerMizer stuff in it. I did a few searches in the registry but found nothing. Thanks for the input, though. I think we're closer at least. Any idea if I got something wrong?

    @CA36GTP: did that work for you?

    Maybe I'll try upgrading my drivers sometime soon if that doesn't work out.

    look for the one(s) with the program profile (_gamename.exe) entries, and add the powermizer dword's there. reboot after.

    186.03 are the newest nvidia notebook drivers i think.

    PerfLevelSrc = 0x3333
    PowerMizerDefault = 0x03
    PowerMizerEnable = 0x01
    PowerMizerLevel = 0x03
    PowerMizerLevelAC = 0x01
