    G50vt-A1 FN keys question

    On all my previous laptops the function keys worked without software that had to be running in the background. Why is it that the G50vt-A1 depends on 2 services and about 6 running processes to work properly? Overall its a great laptop especially for the price but im not a fan on the pre-loaded asus utilities..

    They do work without additional software, at least some of them, because you can use some in Expressgate. But functions that are not natively part of the OS, like direct console and power4gear, require ASUS software.
