Which is better for the average user, being me.
I will not be playing crysis, nor will I be editing 10 MegaPixel photos, and the Refirbished does cost only a scant $700 out the door(compaired to the RX05's post tax 1150$ price tag) but is the GTX 260m that much better to offset the price?
From what I have seen in the forums so far,the G51 is just the G50 with a fancy new keyboard and GPU,but has the same heat sink,of which might mean I could just buy an "old" G51 on ebay in a few months that has a dud screen or something that I can steal the GPU out of...I Guess I am Fighting my self and am Biased too...but any reasons that I should not get the G50?
Oh and rule out Windows 7,I already ordered an upgrade copy ,so no prob in that department.

For your purposes... no reason not to get the G50.
The 9800m GS is by no means a pushover card, and it can competently play almost every game you throw at it. -
I would say it comes down to the $$$ if your willing to spend more than get the newer one. Why start off with discontinued tech.
If you rather not spend the money and still want decent get the cheaper one...
G51 have some overheat problems, but G50 may have keyboard lag if touchpad driver installed...
Point is all notebooks may have some type of defect....
So in end its $$ -

Thanks guys,I think I will have to agree with you guys. -
i have to agree i love my g50vt-x1. and i really like not melting my lappy lol.(lazy asustek for not redoing the cooling) and as for crysis it runs awful on any computer. but crysis warhead is another story. on mainstrean i hit about 45 fps constant.

Ok how much cache does the P8400 in the G50VT-X1 really have,A bunch of resellers say 2mb and P8400,although I think they all might have gotten their Data from the same source,Intel Says 3mb...it be true?

It is indeed 3MB.

I would believe what intel says about their cpus than retailers.

If you'd buy the G51 and play those sort of games, I'd recommend a good cooler, then you're pretty much safe.
.. If you dont need so much CPU/ GPU power and want to have a cheaper machine, the G50 is a good choice. -
