    one question to ask!

I just got my x5 2 days ago and am trying to install dox drivers, but for the life of me my original drivers aren't getting uninstalled, I have tried drive sweeper, uninstalling in safe mode.. disabeling the pnp so it won't look for the drivers but it still keeps showing up in my device manager as the old 8.15## what ever the heck drivers it comes with from the factory..

I even tried just installing the new nvidia drivers with no luck.. any thoughts?

    Love the PC btw!!

I DID FOLLOW ALL THE STEPS IN THE TUTORIAL ON HOW TO INSTALL DOX DRIVERS>> still no help!

    What am I messing up

    Umm......it should work.

If after uninstalling and wiping it in safe mode with driver sweeper, can you install new Dox drivers or does an error pop up?

No errors pop up at all, but I just did it again and the DOX driver ends up in a folder on my desktop and vista just reinstalls the old drivers even if I delete the Nvidia folder contents.. I am baffled!

EDIT: when I go to device drivers it should list the new drivers correct? because I am basing all my assumptions of no new drivers based on that! I am not a newb when it comes to computers, I have built plenty but this is just confusing.. Crazy Vista

Okay, run GPU-Z and tell me what driver version you're seeing right now.

You've attempted to install Dox drivers and went through the process once already right?

Right now it says 8.15.11.8603 forceware 186.03

I will try again tonight when I get some more beer!

And yes I did try to install the dox drivers once before, but now that I have gpuz installed it will sure help out to see if it is working or not.

    THX for your help!

OK I got it installed... When I was looking at the drivers in device manager it didn't show 185.85.. but using Gpuz it shows that the install worked.. THX!
