Hi 3visano and welcome to NBR!
The specs on the G50vt-ep014c look great! It's almost identical to the G50Vt-A2 but with a lower resolution screen. Does it come with any warranty like the US models?
The price is VERY steep, but keep in mind that Italy has one of the world's most strictest customs and importing goods to Italy can take a big chunk out of your wallet :(

I guess Dollars isnt exactly strong at the present, because even top spec A2 does not go over $1900(unless you add options like ssd), and A2 has higher screen resolution plus two 7200 drives. The only thing that really stands out on this spec is 1024mb of vram, and for what its worth, in most games, I highly doubt it would translate to much improvement in fps(the screen res is not high enough mostly to show significant advantages even with filters).

If I spending this much on a DTR, I might as well just get something like EUROCOM m860ut with 1920x1200 screen + 9800m GT + bluray (>$2300).

Cos imo at $2.5k G50 neither have full HD screen, nor GPU with 96 SPs, just no go for me frankly, though normal A2 is pretty nice for the asking price...

What we need to keep in mind is that prices are different in Europe from the prices in US. A good rule of thumb is we pay about the same NUMBER of EUR as you pay USD in US.

And if the customs are that strict in Italy as David says, then even ordering from the US may not get the end-price lower than if the OP buys directly from Italy.

Thanks guys for a quick answer to my post!

Sorry, I have no idea about US warranty but the notebook in Italy is protected under a 2-year warranty globally + 1-year "KASKO" (it´s a kind of full-cover protection against human damage :D , ie. water damage, laptop falling..). Asus is the best brand for the warrenty service.

For me it´s strange have a laptop with only WXGA resolution when you have installed NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GS.. I would like to have an higher risolution.. and the WSXGA+ of US version is a good compromise!!

and finally the price.. it´s a shock for me!! If a should buy the laptop from Ebay what do you think about the final price?

    Cheers!! :)

That warranty is very good, and it's equivalent with what they get in the US (2 year std + 1 year accidental warranty).

All the LCD monitors will be like that, they will run at their native res. Can't go higher; and if you go lower the type will be fuzzy.

I would not know how to advise about ebay, I've never bought something off ebay. Make sure you're not throwing away the warranty if you do decide for ebay!
