I have been tempted on buying the Best Buy G51 and using parts of of my G50Vt-A2 to make 1 heck of a laptop. Everything should work but I am not 100% sure. Main thing thats holding me back is I have 3 year warranty on my A2 and I will loose it if I make those swaps.

oh wow, you must have a lot of money huh? I mean, the g50vt-a2 is great already. I just didn't like the orange part of it. But that laptop has better resolution and also have bluetooth which is something i've been wanting to get for my x1. The reason i got the bestbuy version g50vt-x1 is because of it looks. I've been wanting to upgrade my lcd module and add a bluetooth module also.

AFAIK it's perfectly possible, seeing as there are Asus G series' with WSXGA+ 15.6" screens.

If someone who has the 15.6" WUXGA (1920x1080) LCD pulls up Everest, then we will at least know what the actual make and model of the panel is.

    Anyone?

ok i just chat with a person from xoticpc. he said that the bestbuy version is not made to be able to upgrade to a higher resolution lcd screen. I was wondering why he said that. don't know if that's true or not. kinda disappointed now. can someone please confirms this?

what the guy at xoticpc told me earlier, i don't think you can be able to upgrade to a higher resolution screen on the g50vt-x1. i need to ask the other online resellers to see whether or not you can upgrade it. i'm not gonna give up that easily just because one person told me that it's impossible. there's a person on this forum that did this already but he got banned so i couldn't be able to contact him.
