Ok, Just wanted to know... I know it depends on what your doing but mine seems crazy... I havent upgraded the laptop, still has 4GB RAM. And I am always using 49-50% memory on the comp... this is while doing nothing but surfing FIREFOX. The only real program I have running that would take up mem is AVG... but it shouldn't be taking 2GB worth... ~_~ Any ideas?

I get about the same, but I don't think you should be so concerned.
Windows does a lot of background stuff that speeds up your computer. Unused RAM = wasted memory. If you'd like your computer to run with as little RAM used by the system as possible, try running an intensive game with large textures/high memory usage. You'll notice that immediately after you exit the game, your RAM usage will be ~20%, because Windows shunted all that previously used memory to page file/flushed its caches/etc, and is running closer to the minimum it needs. However, you'll notice that if you load firefox again (or any program for that matter), it will take a lot more disk time since it needs to reload everything into the RAM. After that it gets cached so it's much faster the next time.

High RAM usage on a computer with lots of RAM doesn't mean as much as it used to, since OS's now use parts of the memory to make tasks faster, and can readily dump those parts away when something memory-intensive is used (like a 3d game/photoshop/CAD or something).

Though, I should add that my typical RAM usage went down by 10-15% after switching to Win7 Pro from Vista HP.
