    Hello,

Well I formatted my g50vt-x1 cause I hated having 2 partitions, anyways... upon reformatting I noticed that after a while, my games start to stutter a lot, before formatting it only happened when the entertainment mode power profile was selected, I would just switch to high performance and it would go away.

I uninstalled 3 programs, power 4 gear extreme, direct console and the synaptics mouse application. The problem appears to have gone away...

I can live without the synaptics driver I guess, but direct console is really needed, mainly to turn off the annoying lights lol.

anybody know of a version that does not have this problem or how to avoid it?

    thanks

Sorry to hear that you have such problems. It sucks having stuttering when gaming... Personally I never had a problem with mine, except a small issue which probably appeared when I installed Rivatuner.

I noticed my fps where very inconsistent in some games. I used GPUz and found my clocks to be okay but I choose not to believe it and thus I used Riva tuner hardware monitor tool--- I saw my graphics memory was stuck at 300mhz instead of 800mhz. This led to a more than 50% performance drop on most games. (Crysis I play with all high except medium objects and medium shadows, with an average of 30fps or so, but now I was gettin average 18fps).

Turns out it was a powermizer issue, since the computer has as profiles for performance like 5 or so sets--- from 169mhz to 530mhz in several increments, and the one labeled as "performance 3D" had 400mhz core, 300mhz memory. I just shut down powermizer and now I get full performance all the time. :)

Funny thing is, even without powermizer on, I still get better temps that my old Asus M50!

Anyways, don't uninstal direct console, I don't think that is your problem (or at least it shouldn't) but since I don't have the same issue I am afraid I cannot be of much help... I want to uninstall the synaptics thing though, I hear it helps in the keyboard lag.

I don't think I have powermizer, I looked for it on the control panel and didnt find anything. And I found this on the help files

"NVIDIA PowerMizer mobile technology extends the notebook computer’s battery life using a flexible power management system integrated with the hardware and software graphics subsystems.

PowerMizer dynamically adjusts graphics performance based on the system’s needs when unplugged. You do not need to disable PowerMizer when plugging the notebook back into a power source.

NOTE: For Windows Vista - The Mobile page is not available under Windows Vista."

    where did you disable it?
