I just installed Windows 7 on my new G51, but I want to make sure I pull over some of the software and drivers from the Driver Disc that the G51 comes with. I only want to pull over certain things, and I want to judge them overall for myself, but its complicated to try and decipher what files go to exactly what kind of programs. Is there a guide anywhere that has a description of how to understand and work my way through the driver disc files?

Well....the driver disc says which ones are drivers and which ones are optional.

Also, take a look at this guide

Thats the problem, is the disc itself wont load because its supposedly only compatible with Vista...so I have to pick and choose which ones to download specifically from the files in the disc folder.

Overall, a few of the features are cut out, that I'd like to add, but apparently there are still some compatability issues....such as when I try and install Splendid, at the end of the install it tells me that I can only install Splendid on an Asus machine, even though I am, and uninstalls itself.

I installed Power4Gear and I can't pull it up and it doesn't work with the touch buttons at the top. The only things I really want to add to make work are whatever the touch buttons do at the top so they are still functional.

So far, while working on it right now, I got Express Gate to work.

    I did that:

Open your Drivers G60 DVD, then right click "SETUP.EXE" and choose Properties.. Go to Compatibility Tab, mark "Run this program in compatibility for:", and choose Windows Vista SP2... Now close this window and just open "SETUP.EXE", everything worked like Vista here...
