    G51 Furmark results:

i downloaded FurMark v1.7.0 and rana 60 second benchmarking test..
previous to starting my GPU was idling around 65-75c (HWMoniter)

after the test my GPU reached a max of 90c. I think this is good news, but i want to know:

    1. did i run the right test?
    2. is there something else i should do?

I have a snapshot of my screen and results saved in Word, how do i upload it for you guys?

Sorry, first time ive ever used HWmoniter and FurMark at all.

Help me out and ill get you some more results.

EDIT: I just ran it again in stability test mode, logging GPU temps as it went. max was 92c over a 10 minute (600s) period. The fan audibly kicks in only at 90c, and from my 2nd picture (when i get it posted) you'll see that if i turn off the fur rendering, when the GPU drops back to 77-75c the fan shuts off / gets quiet again.

I took a screenshot using F9 at the end of my test this time, so someone, again, has to help me first find this picture from FM and then upload it as well.

    Thanks all!

Your idling temps seem to be quiet high. What is your room temperature?

As for the Furmark results, I don't think there is anything you could do wrong there.

Yes those temps seem pretty normal for the G51, still on the high side but acceptable for 260m GTX

normal for the G51 ok, but in a "normal" or a normal (meaning bad) way..?
will 90c in games extended periods kill / fry anything any sooner, or will 91, 92 be ok as long as its not hitting 100 or anything crazy?

From all the post's i have seen the temps are normal for this laptop.
Are they higher than other laptops with a 260 Mgtx? Yes
Will it fry anything sooner? Only time will tell but higher temps is NOT a good thing.
Don't get me wrong I think It's a fantastic laptop, but I have changed my mind about buying one.
Yes the temps do have me a little worried, but that was not the deal breaker for me.

k, well if anything noticeable happens it will be in the next 2 years, and i got the 2 year best buy warranty which covers everything except accidentals, so im covered if the GPU should fry something; ill probably take it in for a diag. every 6 months even (free).
