Do you expect ASUS to put DDR3 on their G51 in the next month (or will they release a similar model with DDR3)?

First of all, the G51j-A1 already has DDR3 memory.

secondly, DDR3 memory shows slim to none (less than 1%) gains over DDR2 memory in both synthetic and real life tests.

All major manufacturers, including Asus, are going to be moving to DDR3 with their next model refreshes probably. By next spring, you'll probably be hard pressed to see a production mass market model with DDR2 memory.

The reason is that memory costs at production level purchasing for DDR2 have recently become more expensive than DDR3, and expected to hold.
