Have any of you G51 owners tried the new Batman game?
I'm interested in hearing results from the game's benchmark test.
With everything at max (except no physx and no nvidia special AA), my X1A averages about 30-32 fps with a minimum of 8-16 fps (multiple runs). I was a bit disappointed with this result.
When I turned the detail down from very high to high, performance went up substantially with minimum fps above 30 and average fps above 70.
On the other hand, on my desktop system with an ATI 4890 (no overclock), at 1920x1200 with everything maxed out, performance was around 60 fps minimum and 100 fps average.
I knew there would be a performance difference, but I didn't think it would be quite that big.

The Ati HD4890 desktop card is much more powerful than a mobile nvidia Geforce 260M GTX.
the GTX 260M is like a 9800 GT desktop card, except much slower due to slower clockspeeds. An HD4850 desktop card can defeat a 9800 GT desktop, which is already more powerful than 260m gtx, so you can imagine how an HD4890 would easily outclass a GTX 260M at everything. -
My G50VT-X5 gets 25avg 60max and a min of 15 fps no aa at 1366x768. Game looks fantastic even without AA. I'm playing with a XBOX wired controller, since I'm used to playing it on my PS3. PC version with the PhysX enabled makes the game way better looking. I still prefer the PS3 control layout but that's mainly because I'm more used to the PS3 button layout than the XBOX layout.

I'm in class atm but when i get home ill run a bench. Anyone know if its possible to transfer a save from one comp to another? I haven't really checked out how GFWL saves games yet.

Funny, I was looking for that game today for my A1. It'll be available in a couple of days and I'll post how it performs on my Q9000.
-
Playing with an external monitor at 1680x1050 i get 25~70 fps without AA or Physx with everything else on Max (using rx05)
-
on my A1, with 550/920/1375, and 2.2GHz C2Q OC, on 1080p all very high with MAX physx and max AA i get 22FPS. i dropped the AA down to 2x cuz srsly i dont see a difference and its like 27fps in that fight arena. either way i will pick it up on xbox...cuz i like to play action games on my 50" samsung plasma.
-
who says you can't play it on the plasma w/ your laptop? I use my X1A on our 55" plasma just fine.

lol idk man, it just that why would i go through all this hassle, when i can get it to run with my xbox with no problem. the advantage of gfx in PC is negligible for me so i can just skip straight to the xbox. im happy with xbox's so called **** gfx at 1280x720.
its PC + hdmi cable + wireless adapter for 360 controller + razer mamba mouse to control it from far or the EEE sticks. or i can skip all that and just put cd in my xbox and play with my bose 48 series and have a much better experience. it sounds better > the difference in gfx. dont tell me to setup up 5.1 with laptop, cuz that aint happening lol -
My surround is 5.1 via my TV/DVD player, takes 1 click to get surround working for me...and I have an app that lets me use my 360 controller as a wireless mouse so all I have to do is plug in the HDMI cable, press FN+F8 and go =p
-
might i ask what is that app? seems useful. nonetheless, my bose is hooked up to 360 via optical out. i would need to add another one to my bose setup to get the thing working. its too much hassle for me.

Pinnacle Game Profiler. http://www.pinnaclegameprofiler.com/download.html is 20$ but has been well worth it for me.

wait, that lets you make the joystick function as a mouse? i thought it was only for binding controls to specific games. and besides...i have other ways of getting that program...
-
yes, it lets you bind the joystick to the mouse, as well as using the triggers as mouse clicks.
