    Hello

My cousin has bought a G51J last night and we can see a sub woofer under it but we cannot feel anything as if it isn't working

We've tried the sound in audio, in video and in game but it's like the sub woofer is just there for show

    Any ideas?

Where did you purchase the laptop from?

"The Altec Lansing speakers sounded nice, but given the overall size of this notebook we had hoped for a subwoofer as well. Audio from the speakers consisted mostly of higher frequencies, with some midrange coming through. Bass was lacking, but without a subwoofer that is normal for most notebooks. As a gaming notebook I think headphones should be required, especially surround sound-enabled headphones so you can hear your surroundings and react accordingly."

Maybe your mistaking the big round thing, which is a fake vent cover, for the subwoofer?

toyboof is correct, the circle on the bottom is not a subwoofer. it was intended to help ventilation in the case but apparently having a big hole there actually raised temps because it changed the ariflow - or at least thats how the story goes here. instead of redesigning a whole new case, the just covered the hole.
