Hey guys, just got this Notebook last week. If I run ImgBurn and burn an .iso file as soon as the Notebook completes the burn it completely freezes up...?!
No issues at all on my Desktops......I can succesfully Burn an .iso file using Nero 7 , but no ImgBurn....any ideas?

Also, where can I find the EAX 4.0 HD Program? Cannot find any options at all for choosing different Sound Settings, other than the Realtek HD Program.

    Cheers

Not sure what the issue is there, but thought I'd report that ImgBurn works fine here. Sorry can't help, but if it works somewhere then its a good chance you can at least fix your problem.

    Good luck.

Are you running the latest n greatest BIOS version? Without actually checking my version number I can say that its the one that ships with the Notebok.

For Creative sound simply type "creative" in Start menu search and you should see Creative Audio Center.

I'm running the original v203 BIOS. Don't want to mess with the update since I'm not having the BSOD issues on my system.

Yeah ok thanks guys for the replys.....found the Creative Audio Centre and now have it pinned to my Task Bar!
As for the freezing after ImgBurn...no idea,,also freezes up after running either Ripit4Me or DVD Decrypter...but is fine with DVD Shrink!
I did uninstall a bunch of Bloatware...maybe this has something to do with it,,,no idea really!!
I'll figure it out....I am planning on installing an SSD and re-installing W7 on that so we'll see if it continues after that!

You actually might want to get rid of the creative software too. Creative have always released pretty shoddy software even for their own hardware and in this case there have been more than a few reports of mysterious crashes and incompatibilities with it installed on the G51j. Don't really need it anyway as its just a software layer on top of hardware that doesn't require it. Might want to do a search for creative in this and the owners forums.

Not saying its for sure your problem, but its definitely up there on the suspect list.

    Good luck.

There is 0 creative hardware in the notebook so there is no reason for the software.
It is sales gimmick from asus to put 1 more sticker up.
Even vista killed off eax so :p ... ps. relatek got it's own effect restore software for vista but was in beta testing.

The truth is no1 ever needed and used eax and audio effect, so even m$ removed all the support for it.
Whatever creative tried to come up to vista just caused problems.
Don't think they better in win7.
