Would there be any reason power4gear wouldnt have the dropdown box for turbo mode?

I got this a a replacement for a g50 and im finding it seems to be missing functionalities that the g51j is supposed to have.

I know and its not there. ASUS support also told me today that my laptop doesnt come with a illuminated keyboard. THey said it was an option on the g51j

i wondering what the heck they actually gave me. Im so angry right now, their laptops have been nothing but problems.

It's the issue of some ATK drivers - You probably don't have them installed. Check what ATK drivers from Asus Disc You have installed, I also had this problem and turbo mode showed on after installing one of ATK drivers from the disc.

I'm pretty sure you're screwed. You got an upgrade from a G50 to a G51J. I'd just enjoy that and move on.

Big deal I should have gotten an upgrade. My g50 was Discontinued. They couldnt fix it.

Now i have something that doesn work correctly. I would rather have my old computer that had all its functionality. Is it too much to get a computer the works as advertised?

I thought so. I just feel im getting screwed.

I just realized i meant to post that post in another thread i had about the illuminated keyboard.

THe guy said "replacement unit was an opne box, it belongs to units returned from the distribution channels"

So who knows what i got.

Well maybe on the bright side, the hardware in the g51j is faster than the g50 so that can't be all bad.

g60 shares the same mainboard and bottom with g51. most of them are identucal.
If you buy any refurb expect a higher rate of problems monor and major.

Other thoughts, i did do a clean install of win 7 and i upgraded to 7 professional. Could there be anything else i am missing?

Okay, after a clean install you need to re-install a lot of ASUS software to get all your keyboard and soft key functions back. I'm not sure myself exactly but at least ATKHotkey, ATKOSD2, ATK Generic Function, ATKDrv (ACPI), and ATKMedia, perhaps others. Groceries? Anyone?

These are available online or on the ASUS software disk that should have come with the laptop.

Ok, i uninstalled all of the atk software and drivers.

I then downloaded all the atk drivers from G60J downloads.

After reinstalling all of them and power4gear hybrid i am now at least able to see and use turbo mode.

    Still no illuminated keyboard.

Here is all my installed programs. THis is a brand new install so there is hardly anything on it.
