G51J has 4gb ram, which is ok for now but maybe in a year or two i'll be wanting an upgrade. only 2 slots so I guess it would need to be 2x 4gb sticks? here come the 3 main questions I have:

    1. does new ram i buy have to be the same speed or can it be faster (if both sticks are the same, i know that much at least)

    2. can i buy 1 stick of 4gb and swap for one of the 2gb sticks to have 6g ram (if its same speed) without problems? or do the sticks have to be the same size
2a. if yes, which of the ram sticks to swap out, or does it not matter?

    3. does getting ram that has heatsink on it make any noticable difference, especially since it's packed tight inside a laptop case?

thats mainly what i want to know, if anyone has any other suggestions or related info please don't be shy.

    1. it can be faster but will run at the lowest speed of any installed sticks. (only 1066/1333mhz are compatible in the 51j iirc)
    2. yes you can.
    2a. it shouldn't matter
    3. it doesn't make much difference, especially since in the G51j you're not OCing the ram to OC the CPU, so your RAM is at a stable/rated speed and won't need any excess cooling.
