    I would really love if someone with an Asus G51J could tell me the FPS you get as this is really the only game I play.

    Cheers in advance.

    Not much of a benchmarker, but here is my experience. I upgraded to the 820 hoping for better performance in FSX. With scenery set to very dense, autogen at dense, and everything else set to the middle I am getting 25 - 30 frames over cities. Over NYC I get 18 - 23 frames. Default planes get even more fps. Also, unlimited frame rate setting is smoother than setting frame rate limit. I also found that the frame rates were higher when I set the gpu settings for single processor (vs. use multi cores). This makes fsx take advantage of the highest speed of the I7.

    Hi dhill,

    Thanks for your response. I thought after the patch FSX utilised multi-cores? Why would you have to use a single processor? That is really a shame in that case.

    Ahhh, 18-23 over NYC? Could you tell me if you set scenery and autogen at medium, what is the fps like over NYC and on the ground taxiing at JFK? I find those two scenarios the toughest test for a video card. Thanks so much in advance.

    Sorry for the delay. No time to play. In addition to the settings below, I have set FSX to use one processor using nHancer. It works better when you have the fastest possible processor. It works better than several lower clocked processors. I also created a batch file to run FSX at High priority (Start /High FSX.exe). Got these recommendations from the web. Here are my FSX settings:

    Screen is set to 1920x1080x32
    Target Frame Rate = Unlimited
    Filtering = Trilinear
    Anti-alaising checked
    Default Cessena 172. Planes from other mfgs cause lower frame rates.
    FPS based on Windowed view. I get higher frame rates in full screen.
    See FSX2.jpg for scenery settings.

    FPS:

    JFK Runway 31R: 32 FPS (see picture)
    Approaching Manhattan: 31 FPS
    Over Manhattan: 36 FPS (see picture

    thats pretty much the max for FSX, its not optimised, the coding seems kinda bad, therefore I doubt you'd really get any higher with a better laptop
