After a bunch of video conversion for my iPhone and leaving it on all night. My Laptop HDD light is on Solid and everything reacts real slow (constant not responding). Even restart and shutdown take minutes to happen if at all (have to use power button to turn off a few times). It will work ok for a few minutes after a reboot but then the HDD light will stay on solid. It does not seem to happen in safe mode though. Have anyone encounter this before?

Try running your laptop in safe mode and see if it still happens there. If not, it's most likely a program that's causing the problem and you'll have to disable or uninstall that program from your startup.
If the problem still persist in safemode, try running SeaTools and run all the tests available from that utility. It could also be a failing hard drive and if so, the tests would fail to run it's full course and you should contact Asus for a HDD replacement. -
Well, After about a good 7-8 hours of this, it finally stopped. It seems to be some sort of Windows internal indexing as Task manager didn't show much CPU use and no strange program taking up CPU cycles. Even disabling Superfetch didn't help. The only thing that I did is covert about 10GB worth of video and transferring in another 10-15GB for the iPhone. Will keep an eye on it for the next few days.

Initially indexing will work like crazy, it settles down ater a while.
